Small Batch Bourbon Wins Best in State

Our Small Batch Bourbon won best in state for Wisconsin this year at the 2021 Heartland Whiskey Competition.

The 2021 Heartland Whiskey Competition was open to craft whiskeys from all 50 states that incorporate corn in their mash bill (the mix of grains used to make whiskey). In this third, biennial blind judging event, whiskeys from 17 “Heartland” states also competed for Best in State. The competition, which was generously sponsored by state corn marketing associations, took place in late July in Louisville, Kentucky. The medalists were announced this September by the American Craft Spirits Association.

The Small Batch Bourbon is our flagship spirit. These small batches consist of about twenty barrels, hand-selected by our distillers, and combined together. This is bottled at 96 proof. Balanced and full-bodied, this small batch of carefully selected barrels is non-chill filtered to preserve its subtle spice and notes of caramel and vanilla.
